The Board of Directors
and the regular meeting of the Lake Blackshear Homeowners Association
was held at Veterans State Park, Group Shelter #2.
The Board of Directors met at 6:00 P.M. prior to the regular quarterly
meeting. The Officers attending were President Les Barnett, Vice President
Ladd Jordan, Secretary Wilson Hamlett and Treasurer Debbie Powell. The
Directors attending were Minamar Rogers, Bob Davis, Bucky Brookshire,
George Cook, Robert Powell, Hodges Whitaker and Billy Williams.
President Les said that he would like to have a Board meeting just prior
to each quarterly meeting. Robert reported that he had been successful
in obtaining the Group Shelter #2 free of charge for our meetings. The
Board discussed the proposed development of the wetland near Ironwood
Golf Course. Our Association is taking no particular stand on this at
this time. The Board also discussed the possibility of relocating some
of the bouys. The Board meeting was adjourned so that the regular Association
meeting could begin.
The meeting was called to order by President Les at 6:30 P.M.
The Minutes of the October 11, 2005 meeting were approved as written.
The Membership and Treasurer's Reports were given by Debbie Powell. The
Treasurer's written report was attached to the Agenda along with the Minutes
of the October meeting. Debbie reported that we presently have 336 members.
Marcus Waters, Resource Manager with Crisp County Power Commission, gave
a comprehensive report on lake activity and current events. He elaborated
on the letter previously sent to lake dwellers on the updated rules and
regulations on the lake dealing with dredging and digging in the lake
or on the shore near the lake. He also reported on the relicensing of
the dam, a study on threatened and endangered fish and marine life affected
by the dam, water quality, and bank fishing improvements at some boatramps.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned so that the
hamburgers could be served by Caterer Lamar Bowen. There was a nominal
fee charged of $5.00 per person for this meal. Our Association supplemented
this fee.
