Lake Blackshear Homeowners Association
Minutes of Quarterly Meeting -
February 8, 2005

The regular meeting of Lake Blackshear Homeowners Association was held at Veterans State Park, Group Shelter #2 on February 8, 2005. Approximately 75 people attended.

The meeting was called to order by President George Cooke at 6:40 P.M.

The Officers attending were George Cooke, Wilson Hamlett and Debbie Powell. Directors attending were Ladd Jordan, Dan Torbert, Larry Hockman, Robert Powell and Billy Williams.

The Minutes of the November 2, 2004 meeting were approved as written.

The Treasurer’s report was given by Debbie Powell. We currently have a total balance of $8662.28. Debbie reported that the total membership is approximately 350 members.

President George recognized new members and guests.

Marcus Waters, with Crisp County Power, gave a report. He advised that the last few months had been good hydro months due to rainfall. The lake is back to its normal level after having been lowered. The recent freeze had been beneficial to the lake in that many aquatic weeds had been killed. He said we need to continue the weed control. The lake is continuing to be monitored for mosquitoes.

Billy Williams said that fishing had been good during the winter months.

The relicensing of the dam is continuing with no problems. Marcus said that oxygen study is continuing and that oxygen is being pumped into the turbines.

Robert Powell gave a report on activity in other counties. He particularly urged all Sumter County residents to attend the next County meeting and voice their opinion on the mobile home zoning on the lake in Sumter County.

The dates for the remaining three meetings this year were set as follows: April 12, July 12 and October 11.

There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned.
