Minutes of Quarterly Meeting
April 10 , 2007

The Board of Directors and scheduled meeting of the LBHA was held at Veterans State Park, Group Shelter #2.

The Board of Directors met at 6:00 p.m. with President Les Barnett presiding.  Officers attending were President Les Barnett, Vice President Robert Powell, and Treasurer Debbie Powell.  The Directors attending were Minamar Rogers, Bob Davis, Harry Hurt, Chuck Wilcox, and Linda Harden.

Minutes of the last meeting were approved. 

Debbie Powell gave the Treasurer’s report.

Marcus Waters, representing the Crisp County Power Commission, reported on current conditions of the lake, water level, amount of power generated, relicensing of the dam, and other related topics.

Wade Law gave the DNR report.  There have been only complaints about jet skis and two boat incidents this year.

We were brought up to date on the new restaurant at the Marina.  It is well under construction, and the plans are for it to open between Memorial Day and mid-June 2007.

Robert Powell mentioned the April 30th meeting which will be held at the Retreat.  There will be representation from the five counties that are associated with Lake Blackshear.  A variety of items will be discussed, but one of the main issues will be to make some long range plans for our area.

Our guest speaker was Tim Quick, Tax Assessor for Crisp County.  He gave a very informative program on how taxes are assessed on properties in the county.  Tim invited anyone who might have a problem with their taxes to please come by his office and discuss it with him.

The next meeting will be held at Group Shelter #2 in State Park on July 10, 2007.  This will be a dinner meeting beginning at 6:00 p.m. 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
